Beach Discoveries

Earlier on this week we dropped off Leon at scout camp.

We then discovered a new beach, out on the edge of the Stockholm archipelago.

High up on the glacial rocks slabs where the sun shone…

…and the beach was pebbled…

Maya and Alfie were in their element!

Rock pooling….

(We spotted a family of prawns…)

Climbing…

Picnic-ing…

And collecting.

LOTS of collecting…

The seaweed was the favourite.

I’m not sure they remember ever seeing seaweed like this before…?

And pebbles.

Lots of pebbles – to build with of course…

And so home came the collection.

The pebbles, the green seaweed, the brown seaweed, the driftwood, and two rather odd seed shaped things…

And a seashore in a tray was made…

They dissolved rock salt in to the water to give it an authentic sea salty smell…

A feather stuck in driftwood became a boat, and the two seed shaped things became buoys…

Sand was added, and a seal, sunning himself on a rock…

And a crab, and an octopus….

…until Ted decided to add the whole pot of sea animals…

🙂
