A Walk In The Snow

Yesterday some new snow fell – and of course we had to go outside!

“No sledges” said Alfie, “I want to walk!”

Having just read ‘The Snowy Day’, I think he had been inspired….

So just like Peter, the boy in the book, we went for a walk…

And just like Peter, the boy in the book, we made footprints, and heard our feet crunching the snow…

But unlike Peter, we couldn’t find a stick to make tracks, and we couldn’t find a ‘mountain’ to climb.

We didn’t see any big kids having a snowball fight, and we didn’t build a snowman or make snow angels.

No…instead, unlike Peter, we discovered new neighbours.

Neighbours with chickens…

And not just chickens – quails too!

And unlike Peter we didn’t come home with a snowball.

No, unlike Peter we came home with two freshly laid quails’ eggs…
