Easter Came, And Easter Went!

This post is long overdue, but we had a lovely Easter, and I’d love to share it with you…!

🙂

There were many crafts…

…I particularly liked the kids Easter cards, each a reflection of themselves…

Leon, the maze lover, made an egg maze…

(and Alfie, who loves his brother, and anything he does, did too..)

Maya, the inventor, and technical queen, made a card you can turn…

Alfie, who just loves to draw, drew a stunning picture of birds in a nest…

(this is the unabridged version…)

And Ted, with a little help, made a wet on wet painting of a chick..

(and Maya, who gives anything a try, made an egg)

There were bead plates…

…and garlands….

…and not to forget the classical chocolate nests…

This year we learnt about Palm Sunday, by making a ‘Palm Sunday tree’…

The orange represents the sun and the ‘cockerel’ on top represents the cockerel who crowed three times when Peter denied he knew Jesus.

The tree was decorated with green and pink crepe paper (we have no real greenery here at this time of year!) and fake spring flowers, plus hung with sweets, which we ate on the eve of Palm Sunday.

We also made cockerels out of bread…

...which we also ate for dinner on the eve of Palm Sunday.

We lit a candle every day, from Palm Sunday to Good Friday…

IMG_4406

…when we made hot cross buns…

(and of course the cross represents Jesus’ cross)

Of course, a swedish Easter wouldn’t be Easter without the swedish Easter tree…

…Or without the visits from the ‘påsk kärring’ (Easter witches)…

We, of course, had to have the annual Easter egg hunt…

(though the big kids had a much trickier hunt where they had to solve a puzzle first, based on the swedish scouting code…)

We had a trip to skansen where we tried a spot of egg rolling….

So we hope you had a very happy Easter, and you continue to have a wonderful Spring!
