This week we’ve been reading a little about the water cycle. Maya was much inspired by the book ‘The Magic School Bus At The Water Works’ (which I unfortunately couldn’t find at this point to take a photo!), we decided to explore further.
We talked about the water cycle, and about reservoirs, and about lakes and rivers which run in to the sea.
We spent some time down at the lake modelling precisely this….
Maya was shocked to discover that only 1 % of the water in the world is drinkable, yet water makes up 70% of our earth. This started us thinking about the difference between fresh water, and salt water, and the creatures that live in both.
Maya and Alfie decided to create their own underwater murals….
These printable stencils come free from http://www.activityvillage.co.uk, and Alfie just loves to decorate them – plus now he’s in to cutting, he loves to do that too!
I then decided we would buy a fish…
