On Sunday Alfie spent most of the day planting. He did this of his own accord, and he, and later his friend Lilly, kept themselves busy for many hours.
Alfie has been collecting all his pips and seeds from various fruit he has eaten for a year or so now.
He decided it was time to plant them in his patch, and after he worked out what the seed was, he drew a picture of that fruit and cut out a tiny plant marker, placing it carefully on the place where the seed had been planted….
Then there was lots and lots and lots of watering..
I didn’t have the heart to tell him that autumn had just arrived and the plants would probably not grow – we can wait and see – maybe we’ll have some surprises in the Spring?!
Children’s play at it’s absolute best!
