A Halloween Treasure Hunt At The Castle

Up at the castle on Saturday there was a ‘Halloween treasure hunt’. Halloween is a relatively new ‘celebration’ in Sweden, so it’s exciting to see more and more Halloween experiences popping up here and there…
It started with receiving the treasure map in the castle grounds…

The lady told us to follow the map and look out for ‘Halloweeny objects’ – and there we would find a letter. When we had collected all the letters we had to sort them to make a word – and find the treasure. In the above picture Alfie is telling the lady he’s already found one – the pumpkin on her table!
Then there was the searching to do – in and around the castle grounds…

Can you see the letters?
Still the searching continued outside in the gardens – which were stunning due to all the autumn leaves….

We discovered our last clue under a witches hat…

Time to sort the letters and find out the word…

….which was ‘SPINDEL’ (spider), and thus allowed the kids to ‘fish’ from the Halloween ‘fiskdamm’ (fishing pond)…
